Jason Kearse
First exposed to music as a young child, Jason Kearse started playing the piano at the age of 8. Mainly self taught, he first started studying jazz and music theory taking influence from such masters as Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, and Thelonious Monk. Having jazz as a musical background, he began studying classical and contemporary music also using those influences to start composing original music. Furthering his studies at Salisbury University for 4 years in Music Technology, he studied classical piano under Dr.Linda Cockey also performing, teaching and composing music for jazz, classical, electronic music, and film scores. As a pianist with 15+ years of experience, one of his goals is to keep students interested in the art of playing piano focusing on piano pedagogy, theory, and expression to allow the students to learn and challenge themselves, as well as have fun playing music!
