Dan La Spisa, Guitar
Dan La Spisa is a guitarist with over 30 years of playing experience, and performances in many genres, including rock, pop, classic rock, jazz, heavy metal, and funk. While studying psychology at Rutgers University, he minored in music, and has always had an appreciation for both the art and science of music as well as the ways that it enhances our lives. Dan recently retired after over 25 years in the US Army, but always kept music a part of his life, even through extensive travel and on multiple overseas deployments. For the past three years, he has been a volunteer instructor with Guitars 4 Vets, a non-profit organization supported by the Department of Veterans Affairs that serves veterans with PTSD. Beyond music, Dan also has a wide variety of exceptional teaching experience, including teaching military tactics and skills to foreign soldiers, substitute teaching at high schools in North Carolina, and serving as a guest lecturer for Political Science and History students at the University of Rhode Island.
