Sarah Casey began playing flute when she was just seven years old, coming home and declaring she wanted to play piccolo. After some negotiation with her parents, she began flute lessons. Until she went to college, she studied with members of the President’s Own US Marine Band including; Beth Plunk, Dawn Kulak, Sharon Winton, and Ellen Dooley.
Sarah found her true passion for performing while at James Madison University with Dr. Beth Chandler, and Ohio University studying with Alison Brown Sincoff. While in school, Sarah enjoyed performing in Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Ensembles, and New Music Ensemble.
Sarah can be heard on albums such as The Ohio University Wind Symphony’s album, Color + Light where she can be heard as principal flute, and alto flute soloist on Michael Daugherty’s Winter Dreams, and on Words That Sing in the Night, an album featuring William B. Yeats’ poetry in traditional Irish settings. She can also be heard on episode 20 of The Music Educator Podcast talking with Greg Childress about "Establishing Yourself After Graduation".
Sarah holds an active flute studio with approximately 30 students coming from Howard, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Prince George’s counties. Her students have been selected to play in Baltimore Symphony Side-By-Side Orchestra, All-County band and orchestra, and Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra; and her students regularly receive superior ratings in county and state Solo & Ensemble.

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE CHAMBER GROUP CAMP?
the Chamber Group Camp is $500.00 and includes four days of workshops, masterclasses, and much more!

WHERE IS THE CAMP LOCATED?
The camp is held at our very own recording studio in Savage, Maryland. We are in Historic Savage Mill,
a Historic Cotton Mill that has been transformed into a vibrant and diverse complex of shops, galleries, and restaurants.  Each camp day will be spent at Red Bridge Studios and when on breaks, camp attendees can explore the Mill to grab a bite to eat, shop, or take a walk across the red bridge itself!

WHAT LEVEL IS THE CHAMBER GROUP CAMP INTENDED FOR?
This camp is for intermediate level musicians seeking to strengthen their skills and experience in chamber music settings.
Beginners  are encouraged to apply as well and will be given the opportunity to participate depending on enrollment of other similarly skilled participants.

HOW LONG IS THE CAMP?
The camp will run from July 13 to July 16 in 2020.  Each day will start at 9am and end at 3:00pm.  A lunch break is included and campers can bring their own lunch or dine at one of the many great restaurants at the Mill.

HOW MANY STUDENTS CAN ATTEND THE CAMP?
If you have a group you would like to put together between 3-5 members, mention this in the appropriate comments box when filling out the pre-registration form.  Ideally, we are looking for a few select groups for a fun, yet intensive week of creating music.
