Have you been wanting to dive into electronic music, but are overwhelmed and intimidated by it? Well, now is your chance to begin! We will review the basics of making electronic music including overviews of and activities with software, sampling, sequencing, and much more! This course is geared towards intermediate students entering grades 6-12 (with very basic music theory knowledge) who are beginners when it comes to making electronic music.
The Beatmaking Camp is split into two daily intensives:
Morning sessions will be held 9:15am to 12:15pm with a focus on programming and composition Afternoon sessions will be held 1:00pm to 4:00pm and will focus on sampling and sound design.

Beatmaking concepts will also be taught and practiced on tablets and students will get time to create their own music and beats and share with the class. iPads will be provided for the duration of the camp, but students are encouraged to bring their own tablets so that they can take their new skills and work home!

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE BEATMAKING CAMP? the Red Bridge Beatmaking Camp is $650.00 and includes a week of beat and music making workshops, masterclasses, recording sessions, and much more! Students will be able to create their own sounds, beats, and music every day of the camp.
Students are also able to sign up for just morning or afternoon sessions. Morning sessions are 9:15am to 12:15pm, and afternoon sessions will be 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The price to attend half days is $350 for the week.
WHERE IS THE CAMP LOCATED? The Red Bridge Beatmaking Camp is held at our very own recording studio in Savage, Maryland. We are in Historic Savage Mill, a Historic Cotton Mill that has been transformed into a vibrant and diverse complex of shops, galleries, and restaurants. Each camp day will be spent at Red Bridge Studios and when on breaks, camp attendees can explore the Mill to grab a bite to eat, shop, or take a walk across the red bridge itself!
WHAT LEVEL IS THE BEATMAKING CAMP INTENDED FOR? Red Bridge has created a unique curriculum that is able to be tailored for all levels of experience. Whether you're totally new to making music or looking to hone your skills and creativity, we have something to offer for you every day of the camp!
